1K is too low to start a franchise, even one that can be operated from home. In this Directory of Home-Based Franchises http://www.powerhomebiz.com/franchise/home-based-franchise-directory.htm you will not be able to find one that you can start with only $1,000

But with $1,000 you can do several businesses:

    - service oriented businesses such as business plan writer, consultant
    - pet sitting business
    - online magazine publisher
    - blogger earning through advertising
    - lawnmowing

There are many options — the question is what is your interest and what do you want to do

There are many small home based businesses out there that can be started with less than $1000, but not any franchises that I am aware of. Your income growth potential is actually better with a home based business than a franchise as with a franchise you must pay royalties on the gross sales regardless of whether you actually make a profit or not.

But before you jump out and join something just because it sounds good, I invite you to read a blog I wrote on advice for working from home. It will give you some insight on things to look for, things to avoid, how to do some of your own homework, etc. It is NOT a commercial for anything I am involved in, just straight facts I learned from the school of hard knocks. You can find a link in the 2nd paragraph of my profile here on answers.

There is also a link on my profile to "The MLM Legality Test" written by a well known MLM attorney. Some of the suggestions being made here will NOT pass the test.

If I can help further, please feel free to contact me.

Hello!!! My name is Marian Howard!!! I currently have my own online travel business with a company by the name of YTB Travel Network. There are so many perks and benefits that you would gain by having your own travel agency. You could not only make money off any travel that’s booked my others, but also on any travel booked by yourself. And with the amount of money that you have for start up fees you will have plenty of money left for something else.YTB also has a $6000 guarantee that if you don’t make that amount in a year they will pay you the difference. I have 2 websites that i would like you to take a look at. The first on is my personal website (www.ytb.com/marianjh)!!! And the second one is my business partner’s site (www.lightspeedtravelteam.com)!!! Take a look at these sites and if anything peeks your interest please feel free to give me a call at 3344501848 or send me an email!!! I look forward to hearing from you soon. Thank you and have a blessed day!!!

I sell candles for Mia Bella. I’m only doing it part time but still making good money. If tried other home businesses but none of them had products I really felt good about. I firmly believe in the products I’m selling and I decide how I want to sell them. I don’t have to do home parties or sponser people if I don;t want to. I prefer direct one on one selling to people I know or that someone who has bought from me sends my way. Our candles and premium quality, cleaner burning and practically sell themselves when people smell them. I started on a low budget and just started having people I know smell them. Contact me if you would like more information.
