Home Business Franchise

I want to be a business owner. I don’t have any business in mind, in particular. I have a science, math, sales background. I would like something I can do at home or part time to begin – I have small children and a wife at home. I think franchises usually want too much up front (for good reason) and this might preclude me. I DON’T want retail. I know SCORE is a good resource for ideas and advice… Is there any further guidance someone might offer me?

I have recently purchased a franchise and am in business for mjyself. So far, we are doing great in the business with income of about 00 per month, however as a new businessowner, I have no idea how that computes when in 20 months I will need to refinance my home. Are there any issues i need to address so that when that time comes I will be able to refinance atb a fixed rate? My personal credit is good, score is about 670. But I don’t have any business credit established yet. I’m not sure what I need to do…..Help.

A small home based business franchise

My wife and I have owned a travel club now for the last 3 years, and we have decided we would like to buy a weightloss franchise called Physicians Weightloss. We have been very successful in our travel business, but it involves alot of traveling for work, and we have a child on the way. We would like to get into another business where we dont have to travel out of town all the time. We have researched this franchise and spoke with several current franchise owners. This is definitely what our next move will be, but we only have half the amount needed to buy the franchise and have enough working capital to get us through the first 6 months with our personal bills. We are homeowners, but have only had the house for 1 year, so home equity is out. We are only in need of approximately ,000. We could borrow from our parents, as they are well off, however, we are very proud people, and do not like the idea of relying on family and friends to float us money. Anyone have an alternate idea?

Ok firstly I would like to make this clear first up. I am mealy asking a question, and seeing which option would be a better start.

So I am a young person looking for the best outcome financially for my future. I have saved up enough money put a deposit on my first home, which i have planned to rent out the other three (3) bedrooms which would help me to pay off the mortgage. I was planning on waiting a few years to gain enough equity on the house to by a second home.

However I also want to eventually own a franchise (McDonald’s, or night owl, i haven’t decided yet. ).

Though Im having trouble deciding which to do first. If I buy a house I’ll have no deposit to buy a franchise and vice-versa.

So should I buy a house (which im planning to use as a investment), and wait a few years to gain equity on the house, then buy a franchise. Or, buy a franchise and then buy a house a few years down the track?
